Anybody have a chart giving approximate weight of 8" schedule 40 carbon steel pipe? Never seen the job in person but the wall thickness is about 5/16" so thinking this is schedule 40 but uncertain. I'm kinda thinking of what equipment is going to be needed to erect the weldment(s).Thanks,SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
Reply:Schedule 40 8" equals 28.55 lb. per foot.

Reply:Download the handyman calculator app, it has a ton of calculators on it, one is how to calculate weight of metals. Its free and it does just about anything and everything.Nothing Ever Got Done By Quitting, Never Give Up.
Reply:Thanks for the help on the weight of the pipe. My skid steer, nor old Hobart machine had any problems performing the tasks asked of them setting the new exhaust stack for the old country machine shop. At 22' in length, it seems to breath quite readily with the coal fired hardening furnace which also heats the shop itself, and the mobile home next to it.SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
