I just bought a Ramco 55 ton Press. This is a double valve hand pump cylinder press. You use the one valve to get the ram down to the peice and put a little pressure on it, then you go to the second valve and that is where you can put the real pressure to it. We noticed that the second valve, every time you put pressure on it, it would push the valve back. So we took it apart, thinking it was a check vavle. There was a ball and spring. Nothing looked bad. So we put it back together. Now there is nothing. What do we have to do to make this work? ThanksAg
Reply:Ag Specialties - This is one of my dream tools. Presses equipped with this pump & valve body are commonly referred to as Two-Stage. I speak fromconsiderable suffering; for I have disarmed every hydraulic pump I have evertaken apart. Quite often there are "fill and bled ports sequences" that are beyond just "take apart & put together". Save the tool and save yourself, take it to a hydraulic professional. Opus |
