Lincoln R3S-325

Reply:I have a R3S 250 in the rear of the storage shed because it always welded terrible. No there isn't any thing wrong with it. had it checked out by Lincoln Dist. Only time it ever welded decent was when I had it hooked to a rotary phase converter I was checking for a friend.

Reply:I have one wired to 480 V 3 ph. It seems to work perfect. They are old but are tough machines.
Reply:the R3S-250 is a 3 phase machine (ONLY ) if you hook up a phase converter you get one wild leg and it will cook one coil or another , speaking from experience and found out the hard way found that out from linclon
Reply:R3S machines are very good and rugged I have worked with 250 to 600 machines great wire and stick machines but almost all I have worked with are 3 phase and phase converters dont work on them because of the 3 coils they have require there own leg of power
Reply:R3S series are mig only and three phase. Any feeder will work on it, but Lincoln and Hobart do not require any modification. weldersales
