Greetings everyone, I'm a newbie here. I bought a shorthood sa 200 a few months back. It welds beautifully, but it looks like hell. The other day, I had it running and it ran out of fuel. I filled the tank and now it won't start.I can get it running for about two seconds every time and then it dies. I took the carb apart and it seems to be fine and the fuel line is unabstructed. I don't really know anything about these engines, and I cant find a place that sevices Continental engines. Any information would be appreciated.Thankyou,Kris
Reply:Throw some clean fuel in #4 cylinder , should fire right upThe unit is timed off #4

Reply:I filled it myself with gas. 87 or 89 octane. I pulled the gas line off the carb to make sure it was unabstructed. I was thinking it might be a stuck needle, but I took the carb apart twice to check. It's still likely to be the carb, I just can't seem to find the problem. The jet and passages looked good.In all likelyhood it's probably a simple fix. Also, when I took the carb apart the bowl was full.
Reply:Sounds like something in the carb is full of crap, pull it apart and blow it out.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ." |
