Not really a welding project, but it's welding related so I figured it could go in here.  Anyway, here's a little arm rest I found on Amazon.  I was looking for a computer monitor mount and this came up in the related items.  It's meant to mount on a desk, but I had a couple magnetic bases sitting around, drilled a couple holes and presto, a movable articulating arm support.  I only used it for about an hour today, but so far I think it's going to be quite nice.  The magnetic bases do a pretty good job, but I think I might try to find a larger one to replace the two smaller ones.  Anyway, I thought it might help some people like me who have to have something to support their arm.  Thermal Arc Fabricator 281Miller 350PMiller Syncrowave 200Lincoln ProCut-55Jackson NexGen
Reply:That's a pretty cool idea, I might need to steal that Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire.
Reply:That is cool and it looks very conformable. Here's a couple of tig aids I came up with which make life a lot easier. First is the hand rest. Then my torch holder and last, a sort of positioner to hold things at angles while I tack them. It has a magnetic base. Attached Images
Reply:Trapper John, I like your hand rest that uses the blue C-style clamp with the L-shaped rod.  Can you tell me what the clamp came off of or where I can get one?Flying Blind
Reply:I just received the arm rest from Amazon.com as pictured in the first post.  It is made from aluminum or some other metal, it is not magnetic and is very heavy and well made, manufactured in Taiwan, really nice.  I'm thinking of mounting this on a track or trolley rail so as to go left or right on a plane.  Again, really nice piece of equipment.   Best  Bob
