I've stuck metal together, before, with varying degrees of success.  I recently purchased my own machine, and needed something to put it on.20 ft of 1" angle and almost nothing left over.I still need to make a handle for it, more places to hang stuff, and fashion something o hold the bottle securely, but away from the back of the machine.
Reply:Would you consider replacing the plywood (?) under the tank with something non flammable?  Wood in my immediate welding area makes me nervous.
Reply:Nice job.  If you had fun building it that's all that matters.  Nice work!  Some Blue , Some Red & Some GreyProverbs 16:2-3.2 "All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."
Reply:Sounds like you figure material perfect. You could set a piece of sheet metal over the wood and then a piece of 1/4'' thick rubber to keep the tank from sliding steel on steel. Watch for a clothes dryer or scrap washer and cut out a piece of metal out of it . The door might even fit.
Reply:As far as the plywood goes, I just needed something to stick in the hole.  I had fun, even though I started cutting my angles backwards on the first few pieces.I realized pretty quick I need another means of cutting steel than an abrasive cut-off wheel.  I ended up getting a little lazy, and didn't cut the upright angles to match the slope of the upper level.  I just filled the gaps with weld.  I even welded the casters on, instead of drilling and bolting.  I think I was just having too much fun laying beads.
Reply:Looks good. Now time to build a welding table. Photos are required, lots of them.Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkQualified & experienced at welding scrap metal
Reply:Any welding project that is fun is a good welding project!"All of this and some of that's the only way to skin the cat!"
Reply:Nice job!MillerMatic 212, Lincoln Precision TIG 225, Hypertherm 45XP
Reply:Nice start! Welcome to you new addiction! GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
Reply:Good job.  Years from now you'll look back on that project and think of a dozen things you could have done differently.   But that's part of the fun of watching ourselves progress and our skills advance.
Reply:That's a neat  welding project for a beginner! Well done. Keep them coming.PlasmaCam CNC cutterLathe and Band SawClamps
