HELP Looking for another NEW Mig Welder

I'm sick and tired of this Lincoln Power Mig 200. Welds good for a short amount of time. I replaced gun/liner, cleaned the hell out of feeder etc etc etc. I finally trouble shot it down to a bad PCB board. I have to find a decent place to repair it or a very good deal on the board to make it worth my while. FYI The Petentiometer is good (ohm check). The wire feeds goes bat **** crazy fast, and even turned all the way down to zero, i get feed at a decent rate. I'm looking for a decent welder preferably dual voltage machine to practice with for certification.  I can get these certs for free while in weld class so i gotta get some time under the hood besides the short *** class i'm in.  Can ya'll help me out an narrow it down to best ratings/price of a new mig welder. As of now i'm leaning towards hobart. Budget is right around $1000  Hobart 210MPV ?and for what its worth I'm medically retired from Navy so i have a Military Discount, which might get me outta taxes on this purchase. (tractor supply)? Reply:I can't say ANYTHING bad about my Hobart 210MVP dual voltage machine...HOVEVER sailor, you did use the word" New" in your thread title.....So I'll suggest a "New" on the market machine that might be a little over your budget, but certainly appears worthy of your consideration.And that machine is the "NEW" Miller INVERTER mig 211....It's getting some rave reviews and beats the chit out of the Hobart 210MVP which is a cloned but now old Miller 211.But as far as the Hobart 210MVP goes, AND their matching spoolrunner spoolgun, I absolutely LOVE mine and recently added their 230 IronMan and spoolgun to my rack.

Reply:I am still waiting for cyberweld to update me with an email that my 211 inverter and spoolgun are shipping out. 4-7 days is an eternity. The reviews I could find on the tranny version and the inverter are all good to great. The 200 multimatic miller doesn't put out as much amperage as the 211 inverter. The 211 is an awesome deal and seems great for a light weight machine that won't be run nonstop. It would have been nice to have digital readouts with actual voltage and wire speeds, even if it was an upgrade option. It seems that the competing products for a middle of the road mig do have digital displays.

Reply:I'm pretty sure I looked at that lincoln when I was at the lws, and found it isn't as capable on mig as the miller 211. The 211 is a little step above for mig, but of course you only get a single process..........which is fine with me. I can run stick with my 330abp, but haven't had the need in years, and they can keep their wanna be tig options. Give me HF, AC, and more power and it would be quite tempting, if it still somewhat light and had the fan on demand and 120v option. A slice of great cake will be better than an entire cake that isn't all that great.
Reply:Ok so i'm going with the Miller 211 advanced auto set. But the gun that comes with it is just a little guy. (went and looked at it good at lws) I would like a Bernard without a doubt.....but any other suggestions to fit well. Miller M-25 12ft/15ft? I can sneak the M-25 in on the rebate to save some loot. Reply:I ordered an M150 gun in 15' length with my 211. They advertise that it will work with a 15' gun, yet don't offer that as a package. It seems they know they have you buy the nuts and will get the extra money out of you, unless you buy a different brand gun. There was only 20 bucks difference between the M150 10' and M150 15' guns on cyberweld. There is less than 20 bucks difference between the M100 and M150 10' guns.The spool gun and m150 put me over the $400 min in miller accessories.........or at least they had better.
Reply:Southpaw....Thanks ill take a look. Yeah the gun it comes with is small and i feel it was used to keep the price point down. Nice thin nozzle/setup though for getting into tight places.
