This what my mig welds have been coming out as...having trouble getting penetration as the beads stand up tall on the 1/8" plate. Tried a variety of different settings including the ones on the door chart (Thermal arc fabricator). Tried both .030 and .035 ER70S-6, using c25 gas and variety of speeds.Any advice would be most helpful, thanks! Attached Images

Reply:Do a little side-to-side motion, maybe little circles.Try and widen the bead and flatten it.~JohnJust a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Trump/Carson 2016-2024

Reply:Are you starting your bead with a long stickout then bringing it closer towards the end? Your penetration is just starting to get there towards the very end of your beads, and it seems more of a change than just the parent material getting a little heat in it.I'd say overall it could use more heat, work on consistent torch movement, and consistent stickout length. Use the wire feed speed to fine tune things and adjust for burn back or trying to jam the wire in the puddle too much, but most welders have a decently large sweet spot at thicker parent material settings.Thermal Arc 186 AC/DCHobart Handler 125
