I just brought a cambell haus 80.The wire doesn't run smooth it is jerky.What is the problem and how can i fix it
Reply:Put it in the garbage and start over. Inconsistent feeding could be too much wire spool tension, not enough feed roller tension, worn out or kinked liner or boogered up contact tip.
Reply:The small rolls of wire are notorious for not running smoothly. You really need to make sure the tension on the nut holding the roll of wire on the spool is set correctly.The drive roll pressure needs to be set correctly as well.This is a manual for a Hobart 140 but look through it to section 5-10 Threading wire as it has a good photo of how the wire should behave when it comes out of the gun. Reply:What brand wire is it? I find the 2 lb Hobart spools to be inconsistanly wound. Some feed fine but most I've bought don't. Reply:did you buy new or used...If used; was the wire roll still loaded...running rusty wire will clog liner...does wire match rollers ex: if wire is 023 and rollers are for .030, wire will slip as mentioned above not enough tension on rollers will cause intermittent feed or if wire roll itself has too much tension will cause binding of wire roll...good luck
