I currently have a $89 TSC helmet but i wasnt to get a real one. I am either going to get either a Viking 3350 or a Jackson BH3. Is one better than the other?

Reply:Never had a problem with my auto darken hood while using a torch, mine had a torch setting though. Forgot what kind it was as I quit using auto hoods unless I am stuck in somewhere where I can't reach my flip lens. But a lot of people like them, good luck to ya!TOOLS AND TOYSSMAW Mid States Inc. Reply:Originally Posted by SuperArcThere is one thing however that I'm starting to not like.  With the pipeliner while  standing over a welding table that is set really low, tilting my head down won't allow me to get a good sight picture on my work.  The bottom edge of the helmet hits my chest/neck area and  I literally have to bend over more at the lower back, to get the image I need.  This really puts a strain on my lower back if I'm. Ot careful.  If I drop down to a knee, then I have a more "level" sight picture.  This must be the reason why many Pipeliner owners trim off about an inch from the bottom and sides of the helmet.  So, this gives me a reason to go and buy a new Fibre-Metal "Tigerhood" model!    . Different helmets for different applications!!!!   I actually now prefer an "old school" helmet than either one of my auto darkening helmets, including the expensive Lincoln Viking!!!
