I just bought a new lincoln pro mig 180 from lowes last night. I saw what looked like the same machine at home depot, but it was called a weld pak 180. The pro mig was $40 cheaper,so thats the one I bought, is there any difference (better or worse) Thanks for any comments
Reply:I also bought the pro mig from Lowes the only difference is the name so they dont have to match the price
Reply:That's what I understood also.BTW Welcome to the forum Jerry. Glad to have you with us. Question: Why does someone with the name Miller own a Lincoln? Just kidding, makes you think doesn't it.
Reply:What would the pro mig be equivelant to the 180T or C or neither ? I'm leaning towards the 180C but best I have found is About 780$ from IOC.Lincoln Ranger 8Lincoln 140c MigLincoln Tombstone(doesn't everybody have one ?)Miller 200Diesel/Heavy Equipment MechanicLead Plant Mechanic Municipal Water
Reply:The Lowes and HomeDepot Lincoln welders are typically the "T" models, ie the tapped machines and not the "C" continous-voltage-control models. YMMV.Pretty much the same machines, different label/name. The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:I know this is an old thread... but I did read several of these threads before I purchased mine and just wanted to throw in an update.I got the Pro-Mig 180 and thought I would be getting a dual tapped machine. But the power is tapped and the feed is variable so I am very happy about that. Maybe they changed something between when these post were made and I purchased mine.Thanks.Jamie WebbWelder & InspectorBusiness and HobbyLincoln Pro-Mig 180 with Spool Gun and Lincoln AC225
