Post TIG Clinic practice

Here are a few shots of my "workshop" which is actually just a bay in my garage. Practicing the techniques Zap taught us, but obviously, more practice is needed  Using a scratch tig set up, 1/8 inch plate, and one larger 3/8ths plate. Amps are set to 75 on the dial for the 1/8 plate (although I am sure it is running hotter) and 100 for the 3/8ths plate. I am using 3/32 gold band tungstens, 15 CFH of Argon, and 1/16th ER70S2 filler rod. Just getting seat time as recommended. Miller Multimatic 255
Reply:Not bad. I've seen a lot worse from guys with more time under their belt.I'd do something to secure that cylinder though. Looks like you have room on the cart, or drill the concrete wall and add some eyes for a chain or strap..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Al, I have not foot pedal. I am not really sure what to do about those craters. Zap, any words of advice? How does one eliminate craters without a foot pedal?Miller Multimatic 255
Reply:Try to go around in the small circle like we showed ya and dip and "Walk Off" the weld end to the parent material...To be honest I never used the no pedal method so I will have to try this Monday....But even from here........"I Heard That"...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Ha Ha I was just going to post " I heard that" I have been in the shop trying to get my practice time in also. Aluminum is a bit#@. I have made some progress and haven't ended up with a lap full of molten aluminum (yet).
