I just bought a Uni Hydro Iron worker. Its a small one, 25 ton. But it is so smooth and does such a nice job. Today I punched some 5/8 holes and sheared some 4 inch bar stock. Very quiet and makes perfect holes. Mac. I was going to put pictures in but do not think I can. I don't use a pictue handeler. so would have to upload from my computer. If I can let me know. Mac
Reply:Is this the version that's like the old Dvorak 1020? I used one of them for awhile - the punching station was in an awkward place but if you could use it, it beat the heck out of drilling holes. An ironworker is on my short list.
Reply:Its probably the same. It uses the L100 dies. The punch is kind of hidden behind a strut. For long things like angle Iron the punch will do fine. The reason I bought it was to do railings with. Mac
Reply:Yes, that sounds familiar. That's a fine basic machine. Can't beat the money you spent on it, either! |
