I have the Lincoln Weld-Pak 100 HD and I was wondering if I could run .035 mig wire with the shielding gas?
Reply:As long as you have a hook-up in the back for your gas line it should be set up. It's going to be colder that flux-core, you might want to drop in wire size if you go to gas depending on what you're wanting to do. I have one of the older weld-pak 100s and it has the gas hook up but I haven't used it so I can't say for sure how it's going to work out for you.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:Short answer - Nope.Longer answer - That machine doesn't have enough power to really use 0.035 solid MIG wire and gas. It can use 0.035 (or 0.030) FCAW (Lincoln Innershield) wire, or -some- solid wires with gas for GMAW welding.Read the manual and check the nice doorchart recommended settings.
