sa 200 slow idle pick up

hello again, I have a 1979 sa 200 that idles up very slowly when I strike an arc. does anybody have any suggestions?????
Reply:Does it do this just when striking up or is it also slow when you kick the idle switch up?

Reply:no my idler is electric and I got it working better but not as fast as my buddys 1948 beat up sa200!

Reply:Is it the idler for sure?  Does it sound good as it ramps up, or does it hesitate as if it is leaning out? that could be idle mixture adjustment. are the points set correctly?it could also be governor response.
