lincoln 10% reduction in workforce

to all interested, lincoln is laying off 10% yes, 10% of its worldwide work force of around one thousand employees, as of last monday. and it's not just the manufacturing people either, their also cutting back on executives and engineering, the reason what else, our s**** economy, we'll anyway, lincoln should survive this, besides they've been through this before. this is taboo here, but if anyone cares MILLER is laying off 10% of there workforce too, as of last friday. geez, if got a pile of slam invested in lincoln equipment. WHAT NEXT !one hand for you, and one for contractor, look up high, he's working on america's iron.
Reply:Lincoln ramped up about 3 years ago to meet the enormous demand for engine drives (due mainly to the energy boom, but the overall construction boom helped too), they had a wait of several months there for a while on 200D's and 300D's. All of their engine drive plants were going at full capacity and they opened a new one to meet the demand.So really they are going to be about where they were 5 years ago which is still pretty solid.JTMcC.
