looking into buying the sp 140t or power mig 140...mainly using for autobody...any opinions?
Reply:I have the SP175T and with 023 wire and co2 it works great on sheet metal. I used to use a gas mix, but I don't see it as that superior. Plus I get my co2 for free. Very smooth low current arc. I think the biggest problems with 110v migs are people expecting to weld too thick of metal with them, and using too long or poor quality of extension cords. They draw a fair bit of current and need a good power source.
Reply:140CIs a good quality machine when used within its limits.
Reply:Yep, that's a good machine. If you want red, go for it, or you can shop and probably get a better deal on an equally good Hobart HH140.
Reply:I started a thread a few days ago about the pro mig 140. You can see it here: http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=28675There are some pictures of welds I made with the 211p innershield wire and 1/4" flat stock. I am a professional welder and I would recommend this machine to anyone.
