Did a several searches and found nothing! I replaced the gauges on my 15 yr old Victor regulator, the body etc is ready super tarnished and dirty. I know we don't normally clean our regulators as long as they work. But I would like the whole unit to be nice and shiny like the new gauges!  Anyone know of a safe way to clean the brass?  Louisiana hot sauce or maybe vinegar??   I have some old hoses that I will put on them during cleaning to be sure nothing gets inside.thanks

Reply:Sell them and buy something chrome plated or anodized.  Do not polish them.  There is no polishing compound that is oxygen safe.
Reply:Check with local supplier on rebuilding or just cleaning. We send ours in for repair and then come back like new and rebuilt. Might get a estimate
Reply:HAving them sent out and cleaned would be your best bet. You can try these guys. Quite a few of us have had really good service from them.http://www.regulatortorchrepair.com/repairservices.phpVinegar will help remove the tarnish. However as mentioned, you really must be sure nothing gets in the regs when you do this. I'd avoid most polishes simply because of the oils etc that they usually contain. Just too big a risk in my book. Personally I wouldn't mess with it and just send it out, and I'm certified to work on O2 regs. Just not worth my hassle honestly..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:I've seen a lot of reconditioned/rebuilt Victor gear that was painted gold color.
