arc stabilizer

Hello all, More questions from me.   I keep looking for a welder on craigslist.  Looking at everything.... Reply:The arc stabilizers are nice to use with stick welders.The arc will start without having to touch the metal,and will start an arc through paint and rust.We used to use the one that I had on a DC welder.
Reply:a quick google search seems to indicate you can TIG weld steel with AC so long as you have the arc stabilizer box. But it is not the most optimal answer.Miller Multimatic 255
