Hardinge Cataract Quick change Restoration Project

I realize this is mostly a welding forum however lots of you work in or around machine shops with lathes etc. I am in the process of restoring a 95 year old metal lathe built in Dec 1916 by Hardinge Bros of Chicago. You can view a thread about the project here  If you wish to see pictures of the restoration project you can see them here  With this in mind if anybody out there comes across either complete machines or parts that will fit my machine please let me know. Reply:Worked at a couple of places that had newer Hardinge toolroom lathes. Amazing machines the nicest I have ever used, they could even make me look pretty good with the tolerances they would hold. LOLNice find and you are doing a real nice restoration job.

Reply:Hardinge are great machines, my next spindle machine. I want a horizontal I want to be abel to hog!!! metal once in a while. I know a real metal hog is a big Cincinnati bt check this out: http://www.califsawdustman.com/myworkshop.htmReally sweet vertical, and horizontal in the same machine.What electical motor are you looking for is that an AC machine, was it a GE motor, I run across those every oce in a while.
Reply:Actually already have a motor and assembly for this. Motor that came with the machine was a newer GE motor. Have not yet got to that area for cleaning and restoration.
