I have a Miller Invision 456P and S-64 wire feeder. The inverter is unused still in box. it was bought as back up but never used. The wire feeder is close to new condition. Included is 2 25' extensions, a 50' extension, new Tough Gun mig gun. I need to unload these asap. I am wanting a single phase setup and the finance manager said no new toys (tools in my language) till I sale something. I can send pictures if needed. Pm me and we can talk numbers. Do not know what to ask for it because it is only worth whatever someone will pay for it.
Reply:I don't need any new "tools" right now either - especially a serious machine such as the 456P - but some kind of idea what you need to get for them may spark more interest.  Surely you have a figure in mind that you want or need to get for them. What general region of Indiana?  Central, north, south, etc.Package deal only or split up if needed?Single or multiple input voltage 456P?SNs? (to reference age and proper manuals)Good luck and welcome to the forum. Reply:Sorry I did not think to add the info you brought up Duaneb55. I am in Kokomo Indiana, so you could say that would be the central area.On your second question. I will sell this thing ANYWAY I can get it out of my garage. Whether it be package, piece by piece, or even parts. I hate to part with it, with it being a new machine, but I do not have 3 phase and I have checked into running a phase converter. I just do not have the knowledge to put together a converter, and REFUSE to pay the prices they want for a already built one.It is the 230/460 dual voltage machine. The ser.# on the inverter is KK311340The ser.# on feeder is KJ081734I would be more then glad to send photoa to anyone even remotely interested in any of these items.I just want to move it out and get a Millermatic 252 to add to my collection.
Reply:Another option would be to...keep the feedersell the power sourceand buy a power source that is single phasesuch asmaxtron 450  (I love mine)Regency 200 or 250XMT 300 or 304  (you can get the 300's cheap but....)what i like about my setup (maxtron with d-64) is i have the feeder on a cart by itself with 30' of cable and its much easier to roll aroud the shop then my MM250 the maxtron never moves. I can use the mig gun to pull the cart (great for doing large parts)
Reply:Hi, I have the Miller Auto Invision 456 and a S-62. I got mine just before Christmas last year and I paid about AU$1500 for the power supply (In Australia) and about US$815 for the S-62 (From the USA) which was supposed to be new. The Auto Invision 456 that I bought looked almost new. When I was checking out prices, the Invision 456 power sources where going for between US$500-1000, but they looked pretty poor cosmetically, as yours is new it may get more than US$1000, but as you said, it is only worth what ever someone is willing to pay at a price that you can live with. If you wanted to buy one from a dealer new then they are very pricey! I also would go along with the idea of selling the 456 and keeping the wire feeder to attach to another power source. Maybe you can approach a Miller dealer and do a trade on the power source.Last edited by Ed.; 08-22-2010 at 06:36 AM.Miller Auto Invision 456 + S-62 wire feederC6240B1 Gap bed lathe16 ft3 air compressor16 speed pedestal drillHafco BS-912 Bandsaw
Reply:I have called every Miller dealer within 100 mile radius of me and no one would even consider a trade-in on anything, even used machines. If I could find a schematic that is clear to read, I would consider building a rpc to run the inverter.

Reply:Originally Posted by Ed.Hey Duaneb55, while we are on this subject of 456P's ,and hope I am not highjacking this thread too much, do you happen to know the models numbers/names of any push pull or spool guns that can be used for this model welder as I am thinking of welding some aluminium on my setup.RegardsEd
Reply:I missed the "or spool guns" and read it as only a push/pull question.  Thanks for picking up the slack Steve.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Thanks guys for the replies, I will check out those push pull and spool guns mentioned and try to narrow it down to one that is suitable/available and affordable.RegardsEdMiller Auto Invision 456 + S-62 wire feederC6240B1 Gap bed lathe16 ft3 air compressor16 speed pedestal drillHafco BS-912 Bandsaw
Reply:Does the invision do arc air gouging?Or just the phoenix? Is it a CC/CV machine?Looking at condensing welders.Currently have a 500 cigweld diesel welder, fronius 2800 pulsemig,XMT400.Looking at the phoenix would cover all 3 running off a generator.Just bought a 38KVA generator for a good price.Do on site welding and need the arc air gouging capability and capacity to run 3/8 rods.Last edited by nitrodee; 08-26-2010 at 08:44 AM.
Reply:Originally Posted by 7A749The Invision is a CV machine. In pulse mode, it will run CC, but it's not a machine really designed for CAC applications.I'm not one to advocate using inverters for CAC anyways, being it puts so much stress on the electronics in them. Sure, some have had good success, but I wouldn't do it with any of mine.
Reply:Well it is gone. Now I am on the search for a machine that will run in my garage. One day I want to be able to arc, tig, mig. So I am looking for a inverter that will allow me to do all that. Any suggestions, let them roll.
Reply:If you still have the Invision 456P call me at 732-905-0957 and ask for Jerry.
