I'm pumped. I just scored a Miller AEAD 200 LE on craigslist for 300.00. It's a 1987 model, clean as apin, with fresh plugs, oil and filter, and the original owner's manual and paperwork. It was stone cold when I got there. He had to charge the battery, and it cranked right up. Everything works on it. What can anyone tell me about this welder. Anything to watch for?
Reply:Great welder. IMHO the best of the small portable welders. It's the only one made that doesn't run 3600 rpm all the time. They run at 3000 for welding and 1800 for generating. Mine is similar age and has a arc better than any other small welder I've run. The only down side is the low generating capacity compared to say a Bobcat but it makes up for by not screaming at you all the time. I do also sometimes miss the CV capability of my old Bobcat but I can live without it since I never used it except to try it out when I did have a Bobcat.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm |
