Air Filtration System, Made in US?

I'm looking to buy a small air filtration system for my shop/garage.  In particular, I'm looking at the following three units from JET, Delta, and Rikon.  These are actually the only models I've found.  Does anyone happen to know if any of these are built in the US?  They are all about the same price.http://www.rikontools.com/productpage_61-200.htm[ame]http://www.amazon.com/DELTA-50-875-3-Speed-Filtration-System/dp/B00009LI48[/ame][ame]http://www.amazon.com/708620B-AFS-1000B-Filtration-Electrostatic-Pre-Filter/dp/B00004R9LO/ref=pd_cp_hi_1[/ame]   From what I've been able to find, JET ( actually Walter Meier Manufacturing ) makes some products domestically, and imports others.  I've not been able to find anything more specific.  Delta is owned by Black & Decker, and I know they make a lot in China now.  Regarding Rikon, I haven't been able to find much, except that they are available at Menards ( which screams China, to me ).  All three appear to have domestic repair and support, which is good.   Anyone have more information, or own one of these?  Any other options for a small shop filtration system?   If you are inclined to tell me that I shouldn't care where the product is made, you can probably save your breath.     Thanks.__David Hillman

Reply:Thanks Bruce, I will check on them.   Fwiw, it appears that the Rikon and Delta are made in Taiwan.  There are also a couple more options, I've since found, one made by Laguna Tools, and another by JDS Tools.  Laguna makes most of their gear in Europe, but has started making some lower-cost items in 'Asia' recently.  I don't know where their filtration systems are made, but the smallest one is larger than I need, so I will probably skip them.  JDS is based in South Carolina, but I can't tell if they import or not.__David Hillman

Reply:Thanks.   Smog-hog appears to only make industrial-sized machines, way beyond what I need or can realistically fit into my garage/shop.  Oneida Air appears to make dust collection units, but I'm looking for air filtration, which is different.  I don't really care about the dust on the floor, it's the particles going into my body that I'm after.  Also even the smallest Oneida models appear to be too big and much louder than the filtration systems mentioned earlier in this thread.__David Hillman
Reply:I bet they have an answer for you as they design full shop systems which would in many cases include air filtration which they don't make but might spec out.
Reply:FYI you will want a system designed to collect smoke and dust I am guessing the Wood Shop units may not work so well for welding smoke.
Reply:Apparently Taiwan is the air filtration capital of the world.  Every home-shop sized unit I've found so far is made in Taiwan, including the one I just bought.  I picked up an AirTech HP from JDS Tools.http://jdstools.com/jdsairtechhp.aspx   I have it temporarily installed right now.  Seems to work great, although it is quite a bit louder than I expected.  The specs ( on basically all of these units ) claim 63 dB.  I wonder how far away they measured that... I get 72 dBA on mine from 6 feet away.   The stock filters will catch 91% of particles down to 1 micron, and 99% down to 5 microns.  That will catch some smoke, but not all.  There's an optional charcoal filter I can add which will eliminate even more smoke, if I find it necessary.__David Hillman
