The first welder that I have ever purchased is an Idealarc 250/250. I managed to get it for around 200 dollars and it is in good condition, no rust on the exterior, was kept in a educational shop environment. Cleaned off a little grime on the outside and looks pretty good. The only question that I have is what should be used to clean up the inside, is there a special solvent that should be used? Is there anything that should be lubricated once cleaned, checked over? etc. etc.I'm hoping that this puppy will last a long while yet, with it's 350 lb weight. This seems to be the operator's manual.http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...t.aspx?p=28495Thanks for your time.Lucas
Reply:Welcome to the site, youve got a great welder there. Those old tombstone lincolns are smooooooooth welders. For cleaning up the inside id just use a little compressed air. Just be careful of any small parts and just blow the dirt and dust out and it should be good for many years of dependable service. There are several of those welders at Ozark tech where I go to school and I think they weld better than the newer versions of the same model. My vintage equipment 1957 Lincoln sa 2001980's Lincoln 225 AC1952 F-2 ford truck1957 F-250 ford truck |
