SA-200 Governor Installation Instruction,Help

I've got a 1960 something SA-200 I took in trade,the governor was out I found a good used one here on the fourm,I noticed there is a slotted bolt hole at the top I assume that means there is some sort of adjustment there.Someone said you have to pull the mag off and check for little marks or something.Can anybody help out here?Thanks

Reply:Sorry.  Yes, you'll have to pull the mag to see the timing mark on the cam gear that lines up between the timing marks on the governor gear with #4 cylinder at TDC (should see 'DC' in timing window behind air cleaner).  When lined up, the gear slot that the mag drive engages in should be horizontal.  Get the mag to 'fire' on #4 (rotating CW), back off 1/4 turn CCW and the mag should drop right into the gear slot.  Fire it up and check/adjust for proper timing at 600rpm with a timing light ('IGN-M') in timing window.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
