Really Rough WP225/ Briggs

Drove from CT to ME last night to get a $65 clunker, much rougher than the pictures on CL indicated. WTH , loaded it up and after tinkering today I was able to get the valves freed up and get compression, spark and even the starter cranked the engine. Carb may be the worst I have seen. Got it to fire on starting fluid injection, no carb, I know, very bad. Must have been in salt, guy I got it from said he did a salvage job at a building collapse and retrieved this unit. Cleaned Slip rings and have 4.8 ohms across them. If unit runs I will likely have to build and entire new enclosure. Dwayne , I though yours was rough till I saw this one , but I'm hopefull. Motor should be no problem, Any other electrical checks I cam make without it running?Hope to fire it after a carb kit , probably take a week or so to get. Looks to be a 1985 model year by serial and code. The floor of the enclosure as well as a couple of the upright inner dividers are toast , also the circuit and idler boards have been in the weather but look pretty well sealed up. Reply:I'm toying with the idea of doing the cover in alum. diamond plate. got to see if she'll weld first. Many other projects have to come before this on though. Keep ya posted. Any one have anymore electrical tests I can do? Don't want to get to involved if it's not going to make sparks.               I'm on the rebound with this machine, I missed and SA400 , complete machine the guy parked after a bigger than normal job 8 yrs ago, motor was now thought to be stuck but complete unit, It was only about 30 miles away and the guy didn't get back to my email on CL in time, are you ready? The guy called me today as I sent him my phone #, he said the machine was sold and went cheap, How much?  $150 bucks to a guy that came all the way to MA from Texas. Reply:Don't laugh about the underwater, when I first saw it and he had mentioned salvage, I asked him if it was on a ship somewhere that went down?
