Here's the basket case I picked up after is stood years in the weather with no air cleaner on. Got it for $40 and put another 250 in it. Local Weld repair wanted 200 for a completely beat, 1 1/2 gal. fuel tank, I said no and went to the boat dealer for a $29 3 gallon. Was going to sell it but it runs so sweet I think I will keep it. It has CV and My old one does not.   Dwayne I saw your recent post on your latest project. I just got another one I will post up separate tonight. Still have to paint the engine, Black I think? Reply:Just finished giving my weldanpower 225 a fresh coat of paint an a good cleaning inside the machine. I have the 16hp briggs, solid as a rock, gas tank is kind of smashed, but it welds great and gets the job done! Attached Images
Reply:I now , as of yesterday have 3 of these , My first I bought new when I was 17, it is my front line portable for the limited side work I do and I am 47 now. Look at my other post to see the next Briggs project. Really rough start. I almost forgot to say yours looks great, how long have you had it?Last edited by kolot; 06-16-2009 at 09:42 PM."Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DCMillermatic 251   Syncrowave 300   30A spoolgunLincoln MP210Hypertherm 45(2) LN 25(2) Lincoln Weldanpower 225 CV(4) SA200   1 short hood    SA250    SAM 400
Reply:Well kolot, looks like you'll beat both Ken Dennis and me to the finish line.I know what you mean on the fuel tank issue.  The new one for my Miller Roughneck 2E cost me just over $70.  Almost as much as I paid for the whole unit!  At least the little Lincoln Weldanpower 150 had a new tank installed at some point in its 'previous life' and is in great shape.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Great work! Nice looking unit.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:Looks good kolot!I guess I ought to consider myself lucky, I got a good gas tank with mine!If you want it to look more original, you could source a gas tank from a garden tractor, like any older one that had the tank under the hood would probably work, although it might be a tad smaller!or one from a small midsize that had the tank under the hood like an Iseki or Kubota or something, it would have been diesel, but a good cleaning would take care of that.#1. If you don't like what I wrote, or if it offends you, then don't read it!#2. I am living life the way I see fit, if you don't like the way I'M living, tough sh**!
Reply:The original fuel tank was too small and didn't allow decent run time anyway. You could plumb a five gallon boat tank or "jerry" can as a  remote tank.Good Luck
Reply:Winter I get slow and am hold up inside, I may just fab up a little rectangle aluminum tank, that would look real nice , for now it's quite functional.  Kind of getting away from the steel tanks anyway, they rust and promote crap in the fuel."Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DCMillermatic 251   Syncrowave 300   30A spoolgunLincoln MP210Hypertherm 45(2) LN 25(2) Lincoln Weldanpower 225 CV(4) SA200   1 short hood    SA250    SAM 400

Reply:Here is a picture I found on ebay of the gas tank from a Simplicity 7016 to use for example, it is plastic and has a 3 gallon capacity! Attached Images#1. Reply:Nice restore.  I'm still thinking about buying that Trailblazer for %400 that "...runs, but doesn't weld" for a project.
Reply:I guess you guys really hate that boat tank, just kidding.  The tank to find would be the one from the later G7 or G8 they were a huge rectangle, steel, that must of held all of 5 gallons, just what these gas hogs need. I'll keep lookin, remember the whole point of doing these machines is to keep it on the cheap. Reply:Well, since you mentioned it!It does look like you need to add a propeller on the back of this! Just kidding! It doesn't look that bad, just keep your eye out for wave runners while your welding with it! All kidding aside!Personally I usually try to keep things looking as original as possible, while still keeping things on the cheap. At least that tanks color matches the Lincoln close enough!#1.
