Another feeder for the gurls  Nothing going on, what with all the rain we've been having........so...........  End pieces made  All tacked, and ready for dividers, then finish weld it I guessPicked up another sorta truck over the weekend  Got some serious issues, but it is reasonable price wiseMade it home the first 80mi on its own, then finished the trip on the back of a rollback wrecker  Still within budget though"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:You must be starting a fleet...  Ya'll must have gotten alot more rain that way.  We got a fair amount saturday morning at home (Sperry).  it was raining when we left here (Ponca City) friday afternoon about 4:00.  Rained here into saturday.  It's so dry up here, got here at 7:00 this morning (monday), worked all day.  never even had to put my truck in 4 wheel drive on the ROW, and it's still got the stock street tires on it.  Put in 3/8 mile of pipe today, dug, lowered in and backfilled.  I was kicking up dust with the trencher after noon...  Crops up here don't look like they did crap from the drought.-------------------------Chemetron AC/DC 300 HFSnap-On MM300L Lincoln SP140 Lincoln AC/DC 225g Lincoln SA200 Lincoln SA200 Miller Bobcat 225GVictor torchesH&M and Mathey beveling machinesMcElroy Plastic pipe fusion
Reply:Finished up yesterdayNothing really spectacular.  But I was a little concerned during the process.I had a open box of Hobart 7018 in the house, and decided to use it up on this deal.  3/32 rod.I felt I was having a hard time running the stuff because it was hard to see the puddle.  I figure it's either my eyes, or the composition of the rods.So today, IN THE DRIZZLE  I figured I'd try to see if the Hobart ran different from the Excalibur I usually use.The uber scientific setup     Figured I'd do a few overhead fillets. The Lincoln was very clear sightwise, and a pleasure to run.Very heavy slag deposit on the weld.Nice bead underneath.  Notice how it starts good and hot, up to temp very fast.  Let's face it, all beads will start off on the cool side for a bit, but I feel the Excalibur is better.Nuther one.  The Excalibur is a real joy to run.The Hobart is next"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Nice looking feeder! Also try checking the return hoses on the 7.3 . They run along the intake between the injectors,, if they are cracked it will allow air to get in the fuel system and it will not want to prime when you go to start it. The older 7.3s are famous for those little hoses rotting away.Real welders know how to penetrate!(Equipment)Whatever can be used to beat my opponent into submission!
Reply:7018 excaliber is the first rod I reach for  unless it is P5 plus for an open root. used a lot if different ones with hit or miss quality , The excaliber was always there though.
Reply:Sambo, looks to be you've enough wheels to head on up for a visit with Kellykins. Reply:Here's the Hobart.  Internet problems Less slag covering the weld, but it takes an Act of Congress to get it offIt seems to start a bit cold, and takes longer to get up to a good cooking heatOverall though, it is good in a pinch.  I suppose it's just a matter of compensating for the stuff, and how it runsNOTE:  All you weld police.......the line in the first set of pics ain't, I repeat, ain't undercut.  It's probably either a grinder line shadow or something the same welds laying flat on the table, and no lines  Anyways, I wouldn't throw the Hobart out with the bathwater.  It's just a little harder for me to see the puddle, and seems to start a little cool.  Otherwise it's a good rod I guess"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
