hobart powerweld 300

I have a chance to buy an old hobart powerweld 300. I really don't need it,but, I hate to pass up a good deal,if it is a good deal. This thing looks great,the sheet metal,other than needing a paint job,has no ding or dents.It has a 6cyl.ford engine that I'm told runs good.The guy wants 400$ for this thing. He just bought it at a sale and wants to sell it NOW as he has no use for it.Everything looks good as far as I can tell, just really old. If I had to guess I'd say it's probably mid 1970's machine, but that's just a guess.Do any of you guys have any idea what this is worth? I really don't have time right now to dig into this thing to see if it runs,so if anyone could help me out I'd be much obliged
