I've done my due diligence searching the forum for answers to these questions.  So if you've answered these questions 11 times previously the search engine does not pick them up.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  I bought a Invertig 201 several months ago via Craig's List.  As it was located 460 miles away, I had a friend go pick it up and store it in his garage until I could get down there.  So, anyway, I drove down and picked it up this week and it's home.  I have two argon bottles with it.  One says on a paper tag 50scf.  I suspect that will be the back purge tank for stainless tube.  The other tank is 50" tall to the neck of the bottle---not including the valve----and 8.75" in diameter.  It is stamped 164lbs full and 114lbs empty.  What size tank is this?  It is also stamped 4 of 04 on it's last test.  So that's out of date right?Second question...do all y'all like the carts with drawers in them?  A place for lenses, tungsten electrodes, handles, and fiddly bits?  Or do you just keep all that stuff separate?  I need to buy a cart.  I know; build one.  I don't have the time or inclination to build a cart right now.  I just want to set it up and start practicing.  All the Amazon and E-Flea carts say they are good for 100lbs or there abouts.  So that's out.  I also don't like the wheels on most carts because they won't roll over a nickel on the shop floor. I'll be putting some pneumatic wheels and tires on whatever cart I buy.  Also I like to store rod in the plastic tubes right with the cart. Any ideas on a fair priced cart to buy and modify like I want?  Any and all suggestions, acerbic comments, and raw edged ribbing would be appreciated. Reply:My.02Buy a cheap rolling tool box.Lots of storage, available in many configurations, would be easily adapted to having a bottle rack on the end (or lock the wheels and chain them up), and hold whatever you want that physically fits on the top.....
Reply:I have the harbor freight box with drawers. So far I like it. Larger than the one eastwood sellsTorchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:That bottle sounds like a 250 or maybe even a 300 cuft.  The 125 cuft is only like 42" to the neck.  Check with gas suppliers if they will swap it out on a gas exchange.  Many only do the 125 tanks unless you have an account with them. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:Thanks Oscar.  I'll give them a call tomorrow.  The supplier I go to took in an out of date oxy bottle for the cost of the test only.  So yeah, I think I'd like a 160 or something smaller just because it's so tough getting in and out of the truck.  I suppose if I ever get a dedicated welding table that big mutha would come in handy.DanI hope that when i'm dead and gone, people will remember me and think; "Boy, that guy sure owed me a lot of money!"

Reply:[QUOTE=SGCoyote;6601191]Here's one I just builtThat's a good looker.  And simple too.  I went ahead and bought a store bought one for now.  Down the road aways I'll move up to a full bore, double throwdown DIY job with dual chrome plated overhead dipsticks.DanI hope that when i'm dead and gone, people will remember me and think; "Boy, that guy sure owed me a lot of money!"

Reply:Which one did you end up with? I bought this Hobart MIG cart from Amazon, and it left a bit to be desired. I had to notch the front of the upper tray because my machine wouldn't sit far enough back without the power and gas lines interfering with the cylinder, then weld 1" square tubing underneath the shelves because they started to sag under the weight of the machine. The one thing I need that I have yet to build is a handle. Thankfully I don't have to move the cart much, but when I do, it's a pain. This is the less-than-optimal setup:-Chris
Reply:drawer is a must IMO.Mine: TIG on top and MIG in the middle.the 2 drawer are already filled up :|
Reply:I ended up with one that I'm going to regard as essentially disposable. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...ilpage_o00_s00As I wrote earlier, I just need to get this thing up and running and then make a move to build something decent later on. I'm sorta up against the wall on a schedule I've set for myself.  In any case, I'm gong to reinforce this cheapy cart with some square tube and 12ga plate where needed.  I'm sorta surprised that USAweld.com doesn't offer something but if I go the store bought route looking ahead I kinda like this one;    http://www.bakersgas.com/THEW4015001.htmlDanI hope that when i'm dead and gone, people will remember me and think; "Boy, that guy sure owed me a lot of money!"
