Guys I have a running/ not cutting Ltec plasma cutter. It turns on fan runs. When you hit the button the solenoid operates and air comes on but no spark. All the consumables are new in it. With the side panel open when trigger is pressed there is spark at the points but again nothing at the torch? Anyone have any thoughts?
Reply:Does the spark gap crackle or buzz like a neon light?If the sound of the arc at the spark gap is a buzz. you may have a problem with the capacitor in that circuit. You are only seeing the high voltage from the transformer at 60 hz. If it is crackling, You will need to check out the coupling and pilot arc circuits.Also make sure your air pressure is not to high,Mods, might want to move this to the ESAB area.
