I recently bought a Tig 275 and have not used it yet. It the first one that I have used with a digital display. When I got it I turned it on and turned the amp control fully cw and the display read 225. Is this normal or should it be higher. The unit is supposed to deliver 300a plus. Will it display the actual current being used when welding?I cannot find anything on this in the manual. Any info is appreciated. Thanks
Reply:mabe you bought a precision tig 225 not a 275...what does the machine labelling say..
Reply:It is a Tig 275. The amp control maxes out at 225 when the control is at the 3 oclock position, which is about 75 to 80% of the controls travel. The control starts at 7 oclock and rotates cw to stop at 5 oclock. Taking this into consideration I would guess it would max out at 275+ amps.I will have to call Lincoln about this. As I said I have not used it yet. Bought it used but in pristine condition with all the bells and whistles, water cooler, etc. I paid 2500.00 for it, I guess that is not too bad?? It was only used for Tig and not SMAW.Thanks for the reply Roadkillbobb.
Reply:You should be able to get 275Amps at about 31Volts balanced. |
