Hey guys, http://www.grizzly.com/products/10-x...andsaw/G9744Z2I found one of these locally used, its in great condition and seems to run fine. I have a el'chepo 5x7 bandsaw, and hate it. I'm always cutting too big of material, it is slow, it breaks blades more then chuck norris in a knife fight, and it just plain old annoys me. I thought a 7x12 was more the size I need, but I can get this used 10x18 for abut the same price as a new 7x12. Does anyone have experience with these saws? I'm assuming they are a better poduct then the little one's I'm used too?Millermatic 252 w/spoolmate 200Miller 250 DialarcLincoln 180 mig pakLincoln mig pak 100Hypertherm Powermax 65Precision Plasma Patriot 4x8 CNC tableEverlast 250ex TIGOxy-acet rig10"x18" Modern BandsawModern 14x40 Lathe
Reply:Never had that model, but have owned a similar model from Grizzly. It was a metal cutting demon and well worth the money. I'd still be using it, but found a used Ellis in good condition and sold the Grizzly for enough to almost pay for the Ellis.Lincoln PrecisionTig 275Miller 251Miller DialArc 250Bridgeport millHossfeld bender & diesLogan shaperJet 14 X 40 latheSouth Bend 9" 'C'Hypertherm 900Ellis 3000 band saw21"Royersford ExcelsiorTwo shops, still too many tools.
Reply:I went and picked it up, it had only cut plastic pvc pipe for one job..... lol, brand new but 3 years old. I ended up getting it for ~1000. It's actually better then the grizzly one too, its 2 hp, it has the lever change gears instead of belts, and uses a 130" blade. It takes up alot of realestate in the shop, but it cuts like butter, the 10 tpi blade "fell" through the 3" .375" wall DOM tube as fast as I could dial the hydraulics.
