hey guys. I thought of building me a shelve for my smoker. so I welded to pieces of small pipe to the smoker and built the shelve with 2 pieces of round bar to slide in the pipe. now I can remove it when I'm not using it. I just want to weld something to the front edge of the expanded metal, between it and the latch so I don't cut my self. happy welding, David Attached Images
Reply:Hey Henry. That is a nice addition and you will enjoy having it. Glad you found some expanded metal. You could weld a strip of 1" flat or 1/2" angle across the end. Turn the angle down so it protects your hands without being in the way.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
Reply:thanks wb4rt! I went ahead and put the angle iron across the open edge and still have plenty off hand space for the door latch and handles. Attached Images
Reply:That is really an excellent work. Is it done by CNC?Old tools, trajan band saw, grizzly, delta, lincoln

Reply:yes. this flame piece is just a grill insert for a ford. but thanks for the compliment!
Reply:I like it. Sorry if that came off in any bad way. Would be cool to get your name out initials cut from some stainless to put inside the oval
Reply:thanks man! actually I put the thermometer in that oval circle last night. just hadn't took a pic of it yet.
Reply:Nice looking smoker.
Reply:Never thought about a thermometer. That's an awesome idea.
Reply:i put this thermometer in. I hope it's a good one though. I thought it was pretty neat because the temp numbers glow in the dark to help for night time cooking. Attached Images |
