I deleted my first attempt at this thread some how, So ill try again. This is a pole used on a horse carriage. Its used when you want to drive a pair of horses verses a single. I am copying one that has been manufactured, so that explains the pics with the finished powder coated product. In this first set of pics it shows my little addition to the original design. It looked like it needed a gusset. Last edited by Doug247; 10-10-2014 at 02:16 AM.Nothing Ever Got Done By Quitting, Never Give Up.

Reply:Awesome job ! I like the yellow bender setup. Looks homemade and is really slick. Great job ! What kind of horses ?
Reply:The bender is easy enough to make, but I bought this one from princess auto years ago. A couple years after I bought it they came out with a video how to use it. Cant really remember what they showed in the video now, so I just winged it as usual. Its one of those things that sits there most of the time, but when its needed its there and useful. As for the horses, I'm not really sure what kind they are, I have never seen the horses of the people I am building them for, my gf said they are 16.2 hands though. The couple who I am building this for are friends of ours who we have met from doing Combined Driving Events (CDES). The have a tack store in the back of a toy hauler trailer and bring it to these events. This year they bought a pacific omega carriage but couldn't use it with the team due to this particular carriage not coming with a pole. These carriages were build here in BC and good quality top notch Cadillac's. The company is no longer, however somebody else is going to start it up again in another province eventually. I have fixed up a few carts and built a pole for my gfs carriage and the word is out that I am handy with these sort of things. So they asked me to build them a pole and so I did! They borrowed one from someone who wasn't using it for me to copy.Nothing Ever Got Done By Quitting, Never Give Up. |
