I need to replace the worn tines on my three point tiller. I nearly had the big one when I found out how expensive they are! What do you think of welding some quarter inch thick flat stock - cold rolled - on the cutting portion?
Reply:I have used old leaf springs from a golf cart for soil-contact points (e.g. my box grader), they are just about the right size for tiller tines as well. They are nice and springy and hardened.Hobart LX235Victor 250 Oxy-Acetylene Rig (welding and cutting)Bobcat 773F-350, 1999, 4x4, 16' 10K# trailerOutdoor Wood Burner - 10 cords/year
