I got a Victor CA270 torch - i'll be using it strictly for cutting metal and heating up parts/bolts with propane/oxy. I have a few questions being my first time getting into torches. 1. anything I should do to prep or maintain this torch - the flashback arrestors, do they need "replaced" or "cleaned"? torch doesn't appear to be used very much. 2. how do i know what tips will fit this thing? I think i found online "Tip size 3"...but not sure what that means?Last edited by grossgary; 04-09-2012 at 03:00 PM.
Reply:I am unfamiliar with propane, I use acetylene, but, the smaller tips are used for thinner materials. 1/8" & smaller I use the 000, the smallest cutting tip available for acetylene. I seldom use a tip larger than 0. Once again I'm not sure how propane tips are numbered.Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money. -Cree Indian ProverbSA 200 LincolnVictor Torches |
