So i was told this will cut up to 1/8 plate. Well with the handle it is nearly impossible unless you put all you weight on it. So I took the handle off and put it in my press. Walla it now cuts 3/16 plate. Reply:I'm missing something here. Is the press pin pushing on the top beam of the shear or on the knife and the ram is just retracted?Isn't that the handle extending up thru the upper press beam?MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:Do you see any harm in this. I was going to let time tell, but if anyone knows were a flaw is please yell at me. Reply:I have the same shear. It works well if you upgrade the handle, clamp the shear and the piece you're cutting down real secure. I find that when when I shear, if I pull the handle in a quick and smooth fashion the distortion is less. I think it would be difficult to secure the work piece you're cutting... but if you're cutting narrow or round bars, this set up might help.
Reply:How long can you cut with this? Never seen a shear like this in action.Hobart EZ-Tig newbie.
Reply:biggest cut I ever made on that shear was 1/8" thick plate, the cut was probably about 10 inches. I'm over 200lbs, so I just jump and hand onto the handle, hang on for dear life and let gravity does its work.
Reply:Where did you purchase the shear?
Reply:Never mind i had a brain fart, but i did buy one |
