I picked up a old LincWelder 225 on a small trailer with leads the other day. It was a freebie!! The guy said he bought it to fix up and use but it never happened and his wife said it had to go. He said it ran when he first got it but the Onan was wore out. Im goin to try to get it running with fresh gas and batteries and probally points. Is there another motor that will work with this welder because I have a 20hp Kohler?? Any ideas??Thanks,BrandonBSSServices1997 F250 4X4 Powerstroke w/ Bobcat 225NT & tools1992 F450 SuperDuty 7.3IDI w/ Bobcat 225NT & more tools!
Reply:I would either look up the specs on both units to figure out what your working with or just take the welder apart to find out what shaft taper you have to go from there.Good luck!THE OLDER I GET! Reply:I think thats about the only choice I have is to take it apart and it looks to be a pain to take apart. Wish me luck!BSSServices1997 F250 4X4 Powerstroke w/ Bobcat 225NT & tools1992 F450 SuperDuty 7.3IDI w/ Bobcat 225NT & more tools!
Reply:The Onan crank has a special taper that you won't find on a Kohler or any other engine. All the parts you might need to rebuild/repair the Onan are readily available.Miller LegendMiller XMT 200Miller HF 251DMiller Spoolmatic 30AMillerTrailBlazer 250GLincoln LN 25Lincoln G9 ProLincWelder 225Lincoln Ranger 9Lincoln Ranger 275TJhttp://onanparts.com |
