I am going to be build a Fixturing table for my final welding project for school. I have a few questions on my plans that I would like some feedback on. 1. I am planning for a 1/2” thick top. Is this to much? Not enough?2. I want to do 2 2’x2’ pieces that will then sit flush next to each other. The plan is to use cap head screws so they will sit flush with the top. Part of the reason to do 2x2 pieces is to fit in our schools CNC mill to drill the holes. 3.I was thinking of drill one of the 2’x2’ pieces for machinist style clamps and then the other side for stronghand tools clamps. Is this a good idea or should I just do stronghand tools for the whole thing?4. What size holes do I need for strong hand tools and will they work with a 1/2” thick top?   Please give me some suggestions and any ideas that I missed. Thanks
