I bought a few 3" cut-off wheels at Tractor Supply the other day. When I got home I realized that one of them accepted a smaller arbor size (1/4"). My Blue-point cut-off tool only accepts 3/8" wheels since that's the size of my arbor. My question is can I purchase a different size arbor for it to run the smaller disc or am I stuck with just the 3/8" diameter style? I would like to have the ability to switch since the 1/4" disc I accidently purchased is thicker which comes in handy when removing spot welds on autos. Any info???
Reply:on the bigger electric grinders the collar on the arbor flips around to allow for two different sizes. its probably cheaper to buy another grinder maybe 4.5" then to find different arbors. i keep a thin cutoff wheel in one and a thick grind wheel in another....you can never have enough grindersbobs77vet/37ford4drEastwood digital TIG200HH190Lincoln Invertec 155sLincoln weldpak 100sears/craftsman (lincoln) 50a 240v buzz boxO/A rig Harris gaugesnexion cut 50 dxchicago electric (HF) 240v spot welder
Reply:All the arbors I have will take both 1/4" and 3/8" wheelsDisclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
