Newel posts and railing (not completely done yet)

here are some newel posts for a railing we are building where the bottom pickets are inserted in to wood with no lower bottom rail,the railing is strictly cap and picket nothing else,should be done next week or so I will post pictures when she has been finished up Attached Imageshttp://www.forgingtechnology.com/

Reply:Bryce-masukGreat attention to detail.I 90% finished with my first 'raw metal' stair rail.No wrought elements, just virgin hot-rolled.I'd love to see what you are really doing.  If your camera has a focal 'Tulip Icon' it will bring your close shots into focus.I understand most of what your doing - but how did you form the lower four-sided sculptural element.You've got some serious power hammers; what does your forge look like?Opus

Reply:Sure I have some pieces left from when I made the project,some of the main parts are made from heavy wall pipe and tube, forged downwith drawing dies,  I have some other sample piece pictures on here as well of when we made them.the customer wanted them ground pretty smooth otherwise we would have left them hammered more.its late at night and this is when I like to do some forged pieces for myself, after all the paper work and all the calls are done.I get to chase my thoughts,  for awhile I had forgotten or had been pressured to produce income trying to make a living makes you forget sometimes why you started in the beginning.I am over those thoughts for good.http://www.forgingtechnology.com/
