got my new mig welder in and been working with getting the setting right for my preference. I like it so far, but I do wish I could have got a 220v welder instead of the 110. but I think it'll work good for my use. done a couple welds here in the pics and I think i'm gonna cut the heat up some and go from there. the chart is helpful it has, but I think the heat should be turned up a little from what it suggest. thanks guys, blu Attached Images
Reply:I started with the AutoArc 130 and it was a great little machine. I sold it and upgraded to a 210mvp which is basically just the 140 on steroids. Nice thing about buying a hobart miller or lincoln is it retains it's value well for resale if or when you decide to upgrade.Looks like you're working on flux core so I don't know if the same applies but I find the chart voltage tap recommendation is often pretty good but the wire speed is a bit high. I usually back off 10% from the suggested speed.
Reply:yes. I did back down on the wire speed also and kept the voltage settings the same and then started getting a flatter and more productive bead. I haven't checked, but is there anyway to convert a 110 to 220? thanks, blu
Reply:No there is not. If you decide to upgrade your best bet is to get the 210mvp. It's a wonderful machine. But you may want to wait to see what lincoln has in store with the powermig 200.
