Hey guys - I've been scouring all over for cheap/easy cooling system modifications.  Found a bunch of ideas and started out. Here's the parts I ended up with:[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VMF3N6/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00"]Little Giant PES-120 120 GPH[/ame] $21McMaster Type 300-Series Stainless Steel Pan, 12-3/4" Long X 10-3/8" Wide X 4" High, 20 Gauge part number 4191T77  $35I chose to use the bend hoses w/ a valve like you would find on a CNC mill.  The valve was $10 and the hose was $8.I then used a stainless steel 1/4 NPT to barbed fitting and welded that to a stainless corner piece.  This will allow you to go from the pump to the top of the saw and have a place to unite the bendy hose to the rubber hose.I threaded a 1/4 NPT barbed fitting into the plastic pump outlet and joined that to the stainless barbed piece with silicone tubing.I need a union to hook the bendy hose to the stainless fitting, but otherwise I am done.  Total cost w/o coolant is around $75.  I ordered Koolmist #78 (1 gal) as well.I was concerned about the pump picking up debris that will drain into the pan, so I had an extra piece of 2.5" stainless steel exhaust tubing and the pump fits in there perfectly.  I drilled about 6 or 8 holes about 2" up the pipe to let the coolant in but since the debris should sink, it won't get into the pump area.I will get better pics tomorrow I didn't feel like switching lenses on my camera last night.Bandsaw Cooling by Jon Kensy, on FlickrBandsaw Cooling by Jon Kensy, on FlickrBandsaw Cooling by Jon Kensy, on FlickrI'll get some more pics when all hooked up.Miller Diversion 180Hobart Handler 140 (Soon to be replaced with Miller 211?)Miller Spectrum 625 Extreme

Reply:Tig coolers are usually a bit more involved. The correct pump is usually the biggest expense. I've seen them done without radiators if the tank is large enough and use is limited, otherwise a fan/ radiator would be needed to help cool the fluid.Looks good Jon. The only thing I noticed is that the pickup looks a bit close to the cut point to me. I'd have put it at the far back corner to keep the chips out and probably put a cover on it. I know I just did a bunch of cuts on my saw and the pile of chips is pretty decent, even under the table of the saw. Some sort of screen sounds like a good idea to me..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. I like the fact you can remove the whole tray to clean the shavings. Some wire mesh should help to keep alot of shavings out.
Reply:why not stick a magnet inside the coolant to pick up the non-stainless shavings as well? obviously only helpful on the carbon steel and iron, but helpful nonethelessHobart EZ-Tig newbie.
