I have a couple of these 711P helmets and love them but have discovered that they are no longer in production.I use the 490P with slider lens and sometimes the 411P but like the 711P best.Is there one made out there that is similar?

Reply:I had to go check, because I'm real fond of my 490P's. I actually just ordered a new one for my son before Christmas. Had me nervous they had discontinued it also.
Reply:I think they discontinued because of errant arc flashing and arc burns on the skin.I have used the 711p for years. I wore out a couple, but still have 3 with various lenses and magnification in them. I did have to stop using them a couple of years ago because my cheeks and ears were getting burned by the arc. As I got older and fatter I reckon my face got wider. I switched to 911p and problem solved but like you I still prefer the 711p because on hot days the 911p is like a coffin. I even have hoods with fans in them and they suck. So I measured the width of the 911p and added some foam weatherstripping on the sides to block the arc. I am happy now.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:In the Jackson helmet catalog, it says the 711P and 751P are designed for O/A welding and cutting.https://weldingsupply.com/Huntsman.pdf"USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
