I'm looking for this Jackson Welding Helmet

The one I have is a good 25 years old, and it might be time to retire her.  I got it about 1986 or so.  Anyway,  If someone has one or more of these oldies laying around I will pay top dollar.  Please note that the lens retainer is the old metal spring clip type.  The spring clip was made by OKI Bearing, way back in the day.  I included a few pics.Thanks,JoseyObama loves America... like OJ loved Nicole

Reply:Why?  Because I like it.  It is from the Jackson Mighty Lite series, back in the day.  The helmet is super light, literally.  Also, I wear hard hat and hood combo 99.999% of the time.  Only time I don't is when I can't get my head in a space that's to tight, like a pipe up against the wall, or to low to the floor.  And this hood fits my needs exactly.  I can't tell you how many countless people I know that have the "six million dollar hood" and still can't weld for shi$.Last edited by Josey Wales; 09-13-2011 at 10:09 PM.Reason: FlashburnObama loves America... like OJ loved Nicole
Reply:I know what you mean. When I buy something and I like it. They quit making it. I didn't mean to offend you. I was just curious what was special about it. Doing fabwork is a lot easier most of the time than doing any kind of pipework. I don't have to fit my big head between my workbench and anything else. Reply:Hey Joker, no offense taken.  None at all.  It's just that this is the Dinasaur hood that I want.   I'd like to send it to Rick at American Restorations, but I don't know if he can fix an old hood like mine.  I check Ebay everyday, and there is a  Jackson hood on there that has the same spring clip retainer, but the hood is fiberglass, which adds weight to my 50 year old neck.  I guess I have to accept that I am a Dinosaur, and that newer, is not always better.Aloha,JoseyObama loves America... like OJ loved Nicole
Reply:Have you tried looking at a community college? I seem to remember seeing about 50 hoods that look just like this one when I went. I'd try there, offer to buy them a new hood or something. I know my instructor would've went for that!!
