Picked up a used 155 (1st mig) last week. Had a roll of solid and the gas tip on it but no regulator. Question is, is the gas solenoid already in the unit? The kit comes with one and the regulator, wire, etc. I tried blowing thru the fitting on the back with the unit off "simulating a closed solenoid" and being a smoker my head exploded. If they are factory installed all I need is a regulator and tank then. Just found this site last week, as interesting as my John Deere site. Thanks
Reply:If there is a gas fitting sticking out the back sheet metal of the case, then the solenoid is already installed. If there was only a plastic plug covering an open hole, then it would be lacking the solenoid.A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter Victor O/A
Reply:thanks I can get another roll of wire instead of an extra solenoid
Reply:gas valve opens when the trigger is pulled. I think most of those models came with a gas valve.
Reply:Thanks "CC". Have a couple of years with an old stick, this mig is like Harry Potter time-magical!! |
