The manual for my Miller Thunderbolt XL said to adjust 4 screw inside they turned out to be bolts tho. I am supposed to do that every six months so when the six months rolled around i did. I guess i got them too tight it said a quarter turn so thats what i gave them but it started eating into the piece that slides back and forth to adjust it. i lossened it and here about a month later it started turning hard and grainy kind of like a lot of metal shavings got into from the bolts eating into it. whats the problem and how do i fix itQuality is our policy.

Reply:So you tightened up the shunt block?  Was the welder humming/vibrating?  Did you apply grease to the shunt block as specified?"USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder

Reply:well its working back and forth smooth now so should i replace the shunt block or  do you think it will be ok the wear on it isnt major like you can only tell if you run your fingers across it or you can see shavings in the greaseQuality is our policy.
