I was exchanging emails with customer service at Lincoln.  I was complaining to a nice woman at Lincoln Electric about their website not showing plasma cutters anymore.  She told me that the company is in the process of introducing a new series of plasma cutters and eliminating the current "pro" series of cutters. She said the name of the new series of cutters will be called the "Tomahawk."  I can't wait.  Maybe it will compete with Miller's "Spectrum Extreme 375" etc....  I sure hope so!!!Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller  625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita  Baileigh NRA Life Member

Reply:I thought those were already out and for Europe...?FuelBoy-----------Lincoln SP-135 PlusLincoln Precision TIG 225
Reply:The Tomahawks are built in Italy and yes, they have been out for a while in Europe and a few other countries. Lincoln has been very slow in introducing these to the US. (hopefully because they are perfecting them) The Tomahawk 375 Air is available soon and so will the 625. The 375 cuts up to .375" on 220v and has a built in compressor. The 625 cuts up to .625" and is small and portable. These will be the first two machines to come out and the Tomahawk 1000 will be available shortly after. Lincoln is showing these machines at welding shows in various cities and also in their pricing files but do not yet have them in stock, but it should be soooon....
Reply:I love Lincoln to death, but plasma's were never ment to be for them. Those Pro-cut things were a nightmare according to everyone I know who had one. Good luck with the Tomahawk lineIf you cannot convince them, confuse them.         Harry S Truman

Reply:I used a new Lincoln plasma cutter at the Sun-N-Fun air show in Lakeland, Fl. in April  I did not care for it, I did not like the "Soft start" and don't know why they have it.
Reply:Lincoln bought an Italian company a few years back (EWS) that used to provide inverters and choppers for current control of plasma and welding machines for a variety of companies. Hypertherm actually used some of these parts on a few of its early inverter based plasma systems over 20 years ago....but started building their own power supply components in house as the quality could not be controlled well with imported components. It will be interesting to see the new Lincoln line of plasma systems. Too bad they are not produced in Cleveland!Jim
