Hey guys,I was wanting to punch a series of holes in some stainless sheet. Drilling just didn't tickle my fancy. So I googled and youtubed and figured out that what would be best for me was a Unipunch. I found 2 of them on ebay for a steal. THey have 8inch throats, I can punch up to 1/4inch mild steel, 3/32" stainless. The tooling came in one and so I only had to buy tooling for one unit. That was another 350bucks. But now I have 2 complete Unipunches. I bought a 1/2" punch and a die sized for 16gauge. I punched my first hole and wow, what a cool tool. I know they are made for mounting many of them in a base plate for use in a large factory press but I just put it in my 50ton press and it worked great. There is a guy on ebay selling small frames to put a unipunch in and it is powered with an overhead cylinder and a small hydraulic pump. You could make one out of a harbor freight porta power tool. Anyways, now I want to buy more punch and dies!! Maybe even try some louvres. Mittler bros and trick tools by vaan sant offer stuff like this but they are priced like the things are made out of gold.I will post up a pic when I get one.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain |
